Ghent, NY: Omi International Art Center,

Deadline: on-going

Architecture Omi is offering 120 acres of land at its international facilities in Ghent, New York, for use by arts groups and organizations, museums, collectors, galleries, and entrepreneurial creators to explore the many intersecting relationships between architects and artists. The spectrum of concepts goes from a structure as a work of art itself, to the design of structures meant to contain works of art and new art forms. How are the margins blurring, conjoining, arguing and becoming realized in the 21st century context.

The Program has defined four classifications for submission consideration: 1-Pavilions, 2- Private Collection Museum, 3- Transit Sculpture, 4- Earthworks.

A familiarity with new art and architecture activity is necessary for each category, but the flight of imagination is unlimited. Please take a look at our http://www.artomi.org/architecture.htm. webpage for more details and consider ways that you may help in this collaboration program and for brief submission guidelines. Los Angeles, CA + The National Call to Artists, a Web repository

Recognizing that so much of our national debate is conducted in imagery -- and that tremendous effort is expended to spin things toward the status quo -- the call is going out to artists to use our expressive powers and social imagination to focus public attention on whatever must be put right and whatever suggests how that may be accomplished. SPARC, the Social and Public Art Resource Center in Venice, California, has inaugurated the National Call to Artists, a Web repository for images, songs, scripts, and ideas. A key aim is to challenge and assist activists to make effective use of creative imagery, action, and imagination in mobilizing awareness and participation in social action. It's easy to download artwork to the site, and activists are free to make use of it. Please share this information today!
